The State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 20, 2018 "On some measures related to the improvement of state management in the field of culture and tourism".
In accordance with the Statue on the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 21, 2018, the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan is a central executive authority that implements state policy and regulation in the field of tourism, as well as the protection of historical and cultural monuments located in the territories of state reserves under its jurisdiction.
The Agency operates in the direction of ensuring the formulation and implementation of a unified state policy in the field of tourism, execution of norm-setting activities in the field of tourism, state regulation, state control and coordination, for the purpose of tourism development, related activities between other state bodies, enterprises and organizations, as well as individuals and legal entities, including international and non-governmental organizations, to organize purposeful use of the territories of reserves and to ensure their preservation, to ensure the protection and promotion of national culinary samples.
The agency builds its activities on priority areas such as the establishment of permanent tourism offices in the main target markets to involve all members of the tourism industry in the process, to improve research and statistics for longer-term development, to prepare state programs and development concepts related to the relevant field, to conduct market research for the purpose of determining the main tourism markets, to implement the promotional measures for attracting tourists from relevant countries and regions, to prepare and implement marketing and communication plans of regions and individual cities, to develop tourism education, to use the possibilities of innovations and modern technologies in tourism for the maximum, to expand public-private business cooperation, to prepare and implement new development plans related to infrastructure projects, to increase tourist satisfaction, to extend tourist stays and eliminate seasonality, to develop of a new tourism products and to promote of our country.
According to the order of President Ilham Aliyev on making additions to the order dated April 21, 2018 "On the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan" Naghiyev Fuad Humbat was appointed the chairman of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
